Course In Mental Health Support For First Responders – 11244NAT
This course is designed to address the unique psychological challenges faced by those on the front lines, including both professional first responders and individuals who find themselves in such a role unexpectedly, as well as teachers, educators, and anyone undertaking a basic first aid course. We aim to provide comprehensive support and education on mental health in emergency response, focusing on building resilience and equipping you with practical tools to manage the mental health impacts of responding to crises.

This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.
There is an online course that is followed by a short 1-2hr face to face assessment.
Group face to face courses are available in Sydney, NSW
We can come to your site in Sydney and faciliatate a face to face session (min 5 ppl)
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.
The following units will be included in your certificate:
- 11244NAT – Course in Mental Health Support for First Responders
- NAT11244001 – Develop knowledge of mental health support for first responders
- NAT11244002 – Provide mental health support to first responders
This certificate does not require renewal

- Scenario 1 – Provide Support for a mental health concern
- Scenario 2 – Provide Support for a mental health crisis
Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple choice and short answer questions. All questions must be completed.
